Do I need to audition?
No, Achoiring Voices is for anyone who is keen to sing.
Do I need any previous experience?
No, we work through each new song bit by bit at a pace that suits the choir.
Do I need to be able to read music?
No, you don’t need to be able to read music. We provide sheet music in rehearsals mainly for the ease of having something to collectively follow, but we’ll work through each section of a song bit by bit.
Do I have to sing by myself?
No, we learn sections collectively & sing parts together. Joe arranges all the music to give the best overall choir sound we can make! The tune is regularly passed round the sections so no one part is left ooh-ing & aah-ing at all.
Is there choreography?
No, we focus on the singing but if someone feels the need to sway/shake/shimmy in time to the music, our Musical Director Joe is very unlikely to stop you having fun – he’ll love your enthusiasm!
What should I expect at a rehearsal?
We start with a welcome, notices and vocal warm ups. Then we turn our attention to some songs, either recapping previous pieces or tackling something new. We then perform all together to end.
Do I need to let someone know before coming to a rehearsal?
No, you’re welcome to just turn up and sing. Your first taster session is completely free! But you’re welcome to let us know you’re intending on coming – we’ll be happy to hear from you.
